When: Saturday, December 6ᵗʰ – 9:30 am – 3:30 pm
Where: St. Lawrence University – Eben Holden Dining and Conference Center
Description:
As climate change intensifies social, economic, health, and environmental challenges, the need for whole-community approaches to resilience has never been greater. This one-day workshop invites participants from higher education to explore how academic expertise, student engagement, and
research initiatives can align with local and regional priorities to strengthen community resilience.
Building on the findings of recent listening sessions and focus groups conducted by the Adirondack Climate Outreach and Resilience Network (ACORN)-summarized in the North Country Rural Resilience Roadmap-this event will feature dialogue, mini-presentations, and collaborative exploration.
Together, participants will work toward identifying shared priorities and outlining the foundation of a Community-Higher Education Regional Action Plan.
Questions can be directed to Diane Husic, Richard ’64 and Gail Stradling Executive Director of the Center for the Environment at dhusic@stlawu.edu
